His thoughts towards you…….

Yet another year was ending and I sat in my bed reflecting on how the year hadn’t turned out as I’d hoped.. with a heavy heart, I thought of the promise in Jeremiah 29:11:

‘I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’

This has been my favorite verse for some time. It helped me on what path to take, which way to turn in so many of life’s decisions. It’s a verse many of us love, because it is a promise that God is good and wants to be good toward us.

But as my life plans were not working out as I had envisioned, I found less and less comfort in these words. Some days, this verse even seemed like a joke. It’s easy to believe that God has a good plans for your life when things are working out well, but it’s a little tougher when the path is difficult.

In-fact I became confused, angry and frustrated because I couldn’t see any divine “plan” for my life, or that it was good. There were times when I thought God was taunting me. What is He trying to do? I thought. Make me tough? Make me stronger? How were His plans bringing me hope? I had yet to see this prosperity He promised.I began hating this verse

It was in that period of hopelessness, a friend took my attention to a portion in the bible
“Seek your happiness in the Lord , and he will give you your heart’s desire.

Give yourself to the Lord ; trust in him, and he will help you;  he will make your righteousness shine like the noonday sun.  Be patient and wait for the Lord to act; don’t be worried about those who prosper or those who succeed in their evil plans. Don’t Give in to Worry or Anger it only leads to Trouble.”
Psalms 37:4-7 GNB

Wow…the Bible is indeed the best life manual, that portion renewed my hope, I found new joy, new strength. I concluded in my heart to seek my happiness in the lord alone and I decided to take up a new Title Deed

“So tell them that I, the Sovereign Lord , am saying: there will be no more delay. What I have said will be done. I, the Sovereign Lord , have spoken!”
Ezekiel 12:28 GNB…

I started to declare the verse all  time and  the rest is a testimony!

So my dear, despite living in a time where almost everything is “Sharp Sharp”( Fast Food,Fast Cars, Fast money…etc)… We must not Forget God cannot be rushed, He makes everything beautiful in his own time. We must continually put our hope in God and in His promises for us, seek your happiness in the lord alone. Trust in the lord even when it doesn’t make sense. Even when it feels like you’ve reached your elasticity limit.

I serve a living God, the God that answer prayers, the God who is more than Enough, the  God who makes all things beautiful, the God who loves you much more than you can imagine.. You only just need to call on Him…Even when the situation looks like there’s no way, bleak and  not straightforward.

You might be clueless on the next step to take , in your relationship, marriage, career etc
Let me encourage you…look at the scripture- THE BIBLE! Draw your strength from it. It would energize and ‘re energize you…

“But those who trust in the Lord for help will find their strength renewed. They will rise on wings like eagles; they will run and not get weary; they will walk and not grow weak.
Isaiah 40:31 GNB

No matter the challenges you face, remember God’s thoughts towards you are always good!

You are loved and highly longed for.
