Strength in Joy

“Chapel of freedom” is the ironic name of the prison Chapel where I spent some part of my Christmas this year. My mind has not been able to fathom how people whose lives seem to be on pause were so joyful in the presence of the Lord Jesus. I guess that’s what the Bible means by “The joy of the Lord is my strength”.
So yesterday I saw men of different ‘shapes’, sizes and age groups in prison and it broke my heart. These men however were so full of joy that it seems foolish for anyone to complain about anything. Oh and you could tell that they weren’t being pretentious. It made me realise how ungrateful and foolish I have been a lot these year. I have focused on what God hasn’t done in my current season instead of thanking God for what He has done and is doing. See, God wasn’t joking when He admonished us to rejoice always. Joy will give you the strength for a better day. Joy will help you as you trust the Lord for your needs. Joy will help you in your witness of Christ.

As 2018 ends in 5 days, I encourage you to count your blessings for the year and name them one by one and you will be shocked about how much God has done. If you feel like He hasnt done anything, you are alive and not sick yeah? That’s something to thank Him for. Be quiet and stop complaining! Thank Jesus!

Merry Christmas people!

P. S if you don’t have Jesus, it will be problematic as joy is a fruit of one’s relationship with Jesus. You need Jesus in your life. Please don’t get into the new year without Him. #youarelovedcompletely #ThankHimforHislove #ThankHimfortheairyoubreath #ThankHimforfamilyandfreinds #HeckthankHimfortheuseofyourbody #ThankHimandThankHim #Godissogood #nehemiah810 #philipians44
